Housing Tax Credit Program
The Housing Tax Credit Program makes it easier for low to moderate-income households to access quality housing. Qualified applicants can rent apartments at a reduced monthly rate, based on income eligibility.
Do You Qualify
To qualify, your total gross household income before taxes and deductions must fall below the limits set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the region. MLK Apartments offers apartments at the 60 percent Area Median Income level.

Application Process
- Complete an online housing application
- Meet a minimum income requirement of 3x the monthly rent
- Submit a $50 non-refundable application fee
- Pay a $200 holding deposit applied to the security deposit upon move-in
- Provide documentation for income, assets, and identification
Section 8 Lottery Process – Closed
In partnership with local housing authorities, MLK Apartments offers a limited number of rent-assisted apartment homes. These programs help ensure access to stable, well-maintained housing while reducing the financial burden of rent.
